About this Item
Located just 7 kms away from the ocean in Stellenbosch’s prime Helderberg region is the sister estate of Klein Constantia, Anwilka. It was a collaboration between then Klein Constantia co-owner Lowell Jooste and Bordeaux wine personalities Hubert de Boüard (Chateau Angélus) and Bruno Prats (former owner of Chateau Cos d’Estournel).
This, their debut release, was at the time the finest red wine that Robert Parker had ever tasted from South Africa.

Critics Ratings
‘Maiden Cabernet Sauvignon/Shiraz blend as classy, chic, as the South African/French partnership behind it. 2005 refreshingly unshowy, vinous; lovely broad, silky mouthfeel with sophisticated, gently resistant tannins; classically dry & long; stylish oaking (9 months, 75% new French barriques), balance, harmony, all suggest min 5 yr potential.’ – Platter’s SA Wine Guide 2007, 4.5*
‘A polished, modern style, with alluring layers of plum sauce, black forest cake, blueberry, graphite and mocha. The ripe, rounded finish builds nicely, showing latent depth and length. Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. 3,300 cases made.’ – Wine Spectator, 90/100
