About this Item

1987 Cabernet Sauvignon
12 (2 x 6) 750ml

Purchased by a French Huguenot back in 1709 and situated in the beautiful Franschhoek Valley, La Motte was named after a little village in Provence France and has been producing wine since 1752. Named after the famous SA landscape artist whose works feature on the labels, this blend was inspired by the great Côte Rôtie styles of Northern Rhône and uses the flamboyant flavour of Viognier to complement the spiciness of the Shiraz.

Ex-La Motte’s cellars, the pristine 1987 is a classically mature South African red with leather, spice and sprinklings of red berries. It will drink well for another 5 to 10 years.
