About this Item
Named after the proprietors the De Wet family, De Wetshof has been synonymous with the production of fine wines since the 1970’s and was the first registered wine estate in the Robertson Wine Valley. One of the pioneers in introducing Chardonnay to SA, they have now become renowned for their Chardonnay abroad.
Coming from one of SA’s greatest modern-day vintages and now known as the Lesca, it won gold at the 2010 Veritas awards.

Critics Ratings
‘Ripe and stylish, with a core of fig and pear notes that builds slowly, picking up flashes of hazelnut and heather on the suave finish... 10,000 cases made..’ – Wine Spectator (February 2011), 89/100
‘The 2009 Lesca Chardonnay shows more mineralite on the nose with attractive, Burgundy-like leesy scents. The palate is crisp and pithy on the entry with vibrant orange peel, dried apricot and vanilla flavours, racy acidity and a slightly abrupt, dry finish. Drink now-2016.’ – Neal Martin, Wine Advocate (August 2011), 88/100
