About this Item
Named after the proprietors the De Wet family, De Wetshof has been synonymous with the production of fine wines since the 1970’s and was the first registered wine estate in the Robertson Wine Valley. One of the pioneers in introducing Chardonnay to SA, they have now become renowned for their Chardonnay abroad.
The Bateleur (Terathopius ecaudatus) is one of Africa’s most majestic birds of prey. This wine was named after an eagle that is rare in both its beauty and occurrence as a tribute to the power and grace of a creature synonymous with our great continent.

‘Limpid, just-dry ‘07, restrained and stylish with complex apple, oak, tangerine aromas, acid backbone and youthful mineral-edged finish. Year on lees mostly new French barrels adds dimension.’ - Platter’s SA Wine Guide 2010, 4*
