The 1948 received many accolades in its early life, but was awarded the Trophy for Best Museum Class Cape Port at the Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show Awards 2016.
'Higgo Jacobs remarked on how special a week it had been for us having tasted and drank the 1948 on 3 occasions as part of the leadup to the 2015 Nederburg Auction. All 3 bottles were beautiful – composed, warming and complex, with the Tawny hues balanced by red fruits, spicy notes and raisin sweetness.
