About this Item
Purchased by a French Huguenot back in 1709 and situated in the beautiful Franschhoek Valley, La Motte was named after a little village in Provence France and has been producing wine since 1752. Named after the famous SA landscape artist whose works feature on the labels, this blend was inspired by the great Côte Rôtie styles of Northern Rhône and uses the flamboyant flavour of Viognier to complement the spiciness of the Shiraz.

‘Nothing hidden in 2006, an extrovert; powerful toasty oak, scrub notes accompany the dark fruit, mocha choc part of seduction. Good 4+ years of pleasure lie ahead. Syrah du Monde gold; Challenge International du Vin gold.’ - Platter’s SA Wine Guide 2009, 4.5*
