About this Item
In 1880, a 22-year-old Joseph Drouhin settled in Beaune and founded his own wine company. His son Maurice succeeded him and established a domaine for the Drouhin house by buying land in outstanding appellations including the famous Clos des Mouches and Clos de Vougeot. Today, 4th generation Véronique Drouhin continues the family’s prestigious Burgundy legacy. With 73 hectares of biodynamically-farmed vines, Joseph Drouhin is one of Burgundy’s largest estates. With vineyards in close to 90 different appellations, Drouhin offers a fascinating array of Burgundy terroirs.

Critics Ratings
‘Cool aromas of minerals, vanilla and nut skin, plus a distinct note of strawberry. Bright and minerally, but with rather ripe, showy flavors of honey and apricot. This expanded nicely with aeration, showing a lush texture and excellent length. But a rather gentle style for Corton-Charlemagne; today the Beaune Clos des Mouches comes across as more gripping.’ – Stephen Tanzer, Vinous.com, 90/100 (2001)
