"Gesig vanuit die suidweste op 'n stil binnestraatjie, met die laat agtermiddag sonlig van links, wat daar swaar skaduwees gooi teen die helder verligte wit mure regs. Die verlatenheid en die roerlose bome op die agtergrond verstrek die gevoel van stilte. Regs loop die klipbestrating oor in grond wat met breë lyne weergegee is. Veral die krulle laat die mure oud lyk. Die verweerde paal van die afdakkie lyk of dit van hout kan wees. Die versplintering van die wit hemelvlak is minder geslaagd..."1
