About this Item
Chris Keet was winemaker and viticulturist of the iconic Cordoba winery since its inception for 15 years, establishing a cult status for these Cabernet Franc driven blends that have already shown their popularity on previous Strauss fine wine auctions. Chris embarked on a three-month sabbatical after Cordoba closed production, and then he established Keet Wines. From the onset, with the release of the 2009 vintage, the return of the Keet winemaking signature was welcomed by the industry with critical acclaim.

Critics Ratings
‘Leafy fragrance & hint of cedar a lovely intro to unusually dry & restrained 5-way Bordeaux red 2010. Light-stepping, balanced elegance belies powerful alcohol, but flavour length reveals subtle fruit intensity, untramelled by oak. Drinks well but will mature, like maiden 2009 (4.5 stars).’ - Platter’s SA Wine Guide 2013, 5*
‘The second release from the talented Chris Keet’s own operation is every bit as good as his maiden effort. It’s a very elegant Bordeaux blend, despite the comparatively high alcohol, with all five varieties contributing to the poise and intensity of the wine. Seductively-oaked with a refreshing finish. Drink: 2014-20’ - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2013, 93/100
‘(32% cabernet franc, 26% merlot, 21% cabernet sauvignon, 11% malbec and 10% petit verdot): Bright, dark ruby-red. High-toned aromas of cassis, blackberry, licorice and cedar. Juicy, intense and penetrating, offering very good density without any undue weight. Black fruit and spice flavors are still a bit youthfully tight. Finishes with slightly tough tannins, but this unevolved wine's energy and length suggest that it will reward bottle aging.’ - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous (May 2013)
