About this Item
Meerlust Estate, owned by the Myburgh family, has been in the family for eight generations. Located 5km from False Bay, the property was given the name 'Meerlust' from the original owner, which means 'pleasure of the sea'. The Meerlust name is synonymous with tradition, elegance and longevity. In fact, it was their Cabernet Sauvignon, produced since 1975, that was the first to carry the Meerlust label.
Winery Notes: The Meerlust Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 has an intense, youthful purple colour with slight gradation at the rim. On the nose the wine shows intense cassis, mulberry, plum and classic cedar wood-cigar box notes with lifted dark fruit aromas. On the palate the wine is full bodied and impressively structured with rich blackcurrant and plum fruit bolstered by refined tannins and fresh natural acidity.

Critics Ratings
‘On the nose, red and black fruit, vanilla and oak spice as well as some trademark herbal character which in this instance suits the wine rather than being discordant. The palate is medium bodied, densely packed with fruit although not short of freshness, the tannins having a sleekness about them.’ - Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za, 91/100 (Apr 2018)
