A Japanese blue and white Arita VOC bowl, late 17th century
the central rondel painted with the VOC monogram enclosed by a double blue-line border, the body painted in a continuous frieze of stylised foliage and camellia blossoms between further blue-line borders, rivets, restorations, chips and hairline cracks, 23,5 cm diameter
