the handle carved with an octopus, its tentacles entwining a fish, a scaly fish above, the blade highlighted in gold and black lacquer with insects and Morning Glory, applied with mother-of-pearl and semi-precious stones, staining, crack, minor chips, 26cm long; and a Japanese ivory okimono of a tiger catching a squirrel by its tail, Meiji period, 1868-1912, losses, staining, 12,5cm long
