Rory Tate was the artist's diviing companion when he moved to Knysna, resulting in a series of Still Lifes of Sinkers. cf. Simon Stone, Collected Works, published by SMAC art gallery and Standard Bank on the occasion of the artist's retrospective exhibition at the Standard Bank Art Gallery in 2013, pages 190-193. He was also a gallerist and framer.
