A pair of Chinese Export 'Imari' plates, Qing Dynasty, 18th century
each circular, the rim enamelled in a burnt-orange diaper border above sprays of flowers, foliage, ruyis and fruit enamelled in gilt, blue, yellow and orange, the centre painted with a yellow bowl of pomegranates raised on a stand, enclosed by a border of alternating flowerheads and medallions depicting scholar’s objects, the reverse painted with sprays of stylised foliage, 22,3cm diameter
