Bronwyn Katz was awarded a year-long residency at the Bag Factory Artists' Studios in Fordsburg, Johannesburg, as the recipient of the Bag Factory's 2017 Funded Studio Programme, funded by the National Lotteries Commission. Her exhibition ERF was the culmination of this residency. The artist "explores the potential of her material to serve as markers and representations of space and memory", working primarily "with discarded bed springs sourced from forgotten and neglected spaces in Johannesburg's CBD".1
