The Merlot and Malbec dominated Vilafonté Series M offers more spice and flair, while the Cabernet Sauvignon based Vilafonté Series C is a serious and more structured wine. The maiden vintages offers a perfectly mature and poised wine almost two decades down the line. Series C and M are of the highest scoring Bordeaux-style reds in South wines, recently rated in the 2024 Robert Parker Wine Advocate report as the highest scoring red wine from South Africa, ever. 'A ripe, flavoursome Cabernet-based blend (hence C) with lesser amounts of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec, this takes its inspiration from Australia and California rather than Bordeaux.
