'An ultra-pure and exceptionally cool nose exhibits essence of red pinot fruit, stone, humus, underbrush and earth scents. There is the same wonderful purity on the gorgeously transparent, detailed and vibrant flavors that exude a fine minerality on the dry, clean, long and refreshing finish. This is really quite impressive for such young vines and less austere than its older sibling. Drink 2020+.' - Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 91/100 (Apr 2012)
'(made from the estate's younger Chambertin vines): Medium red. Musky red berries and flowers on the nose, with hints of menthol and herbs. Sweet, sappy and appealing, in a rather open style. Can't match the best 2010s here for precision and thrust, but this offers a lovely balance of fruit, acidity and suave tannins. Finishes with good energy and sneaky subtle persistence. Drink or hold.' - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, 90/100 (Mar 2013)
