set to the centre with a bullet-shaped cabochon-cut emerald surrounded by fourteen single-cut amethysts weighing approximately 1.20 carats, with closed-back setting, to a hinged gold bangle, moulded rectangular maker's plaque inscribed BROGDEN, inner circumference approximately 150mm
Notes
John Brogden (active between 1842 and 1885). He served his apprenticeship with JW Garland as a goldsmith and jeweller from 1834-1841
John Brogden worked in the classical taste, neo-Renaissance and Egyptian revival style.
