A Chinese blue and white dish, Qing Dynasty, Kangxi period, 1662-1772
the centre painted with a pair of elegant ladies attended by two small boys, one playing with a crab, the other a lotus bloom, before a screen painted with a mountain landscape and scholar's table, enclosed by a balustrade and rocky foreground, within double blue-line borders, the cavetto with recessed petal form panels painted with alternating flowerheads and Buddhist emblems enclosed by sprays of flowers, wavy barbed outline, the reverse with panels of Buddhist emblems, bamboo and foliate sprays, underglaze-blue double-ring six-character Kangxi mark, 27,2cm diameter
