In consistent pursuit of quality and excellence, Chris & Andrea Mullineux embarked on their Leeu Passant project together with Analjit Singh in 2013, with its primary focus being on multi-regional fine wine bottlings inspired by the classic age-worthy wines of the Cape from the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s.  These were authentic wines paying tribute to the unique culture, terroir, history, and tastes of the Cape.

The tiny production of the site-specific Leeu Passant parcels makes them some of South Africa’s most sought-after fine wines and they are created with the emphasis on balanced intensity, exuding texture, freshness, structure, and aromatic complexity.

Awarded Platter South African Wine Guide’s Winery of the Year Award no less than four times - in 2014, 2016, 2019 and 2020, the Mullineux’s are arguably South Africa’s most revered husband and wife winemaking team.  In 2016 Andrea Mullineux was chosen as Wine Enthusiast Magazine’s International Winemaker of the Year, while in 2017 British Master of Wine Tim Atkin’s South African Report named Chris and Andrea as Winemakers of the Year.
