IIrumva Isaac defines his art as twenty-first century contemporary, influenced by global culture and technological advancement. His work is a dynamic combination of personal perspectives and societal collectives and focuses on cultural dialogues, identities, characters and memories.

He has exhibited in numerous group and solo shows in Rwanda including Autour de Moi, Maison Beaulier (2018); Afringali Street Art Festival (2019); Female Artistic Maturity, Indiba Art Space (2020); Novembre Numerique (2020, curated by Maison Beaulier and Institut Français); and the Ald Artist Exhbition, Rwanda National Museum (2021). Isaac has exhibited internationally at the Artja International Art Biennial, Serbia (2020); the Triennal of Drawing and Sculpture, Walk along the Line, Serbia (2021, curated by ULUS); and the Collect Call//Diaspora Call Exhibition, Germany, USA, UK (2020, curated by FormeFemine).

Provenance

This lot is the work of one of the 16 finalists of the Emerging Painting Invitational Prize (EPI) 2022. This is an international art platform developed by the African Art Galleries Association (AAGA) to support and recognise the excellence of emerging painters living and working on the continent.
