About this Item
Domaine de la Janasse was established in 1976 by Aimé Sabon. The estate owns roughly 40 hectares of vines, over 70 different parcels across the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. With Aimé still overseeing the vineyards, the domaine is now managed by his children, Christophe and Isabelle. Combining the best of both old and new winemaking techniques, their domaine is well-regarded as one of the most prominent and respected estates in the region today. ‘I have long been a huge fan of the wines of the Sabon family of Domaine de la Janasse,’ wrote Robert Parker of the Wine Advocate, ‘just about everything they make… is remarkable.’

Critics Ratings
‘Anise, plum and cherry notes meld steadily together, picking up light tea and sandalwood accents along the way. A tobacco hint shows on the silky yet persistent finish. Drink now through 2022.’ - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 91/100 (Oct 2016)
‘Limpid ruby. Intense, highly perfumed blue fruit and floral pastille aromas are complemented by suggestions of allspice and licorice. Silky and focused on the palate, offering concentrated boysenberry and cherry flavors that take a darker turn as the wine opens up. Finishes impressively long, displaying lingering berry and floral nuances, gentle tannins and a touch of smoky minerals.’ - Josh Raynolds, Vinous, 91-93/100 (Apr 2016)
