Boplaas Cape Tawny Single Harvest Colheita 2005 (3 x 750ml)
The culmination of the mastery of crafting fine Cape fortifieds to rival the best; a near perfect vintage & a journey of sixteen long cold Klein Karoo winters in large old Portuguese barrels – this is the Boplaas Cape Tawny “Single Harvest” Colheita 2005. The fifth ever Colheita to be released by Boplaas & the first of 6th generation winemaker Margaux Nel in conjunction with stalwart Carel Nel – this blend of old vine Tinta Barocca & Touriga Nacional is a true testament to the vines, vintage and winemakers. Only 3500 bottles crafted. Accolades: Platter’s 5 Star 2021 & Tim Atkin MW Fortified of the Year 2022, 96 points.
The Fledge & Co. Nel + Coetzee Swartland Bosstok Steen 2022, OVP 1968 (2 cases x 750ml)
These gnarled bush vines planted in 1968 & resolutely rooted in the ancient granitic soils of the Swartland, just on the other side of Malmesbury, have for over half a century allowed winemakers to craft fine Steen from their fruit. This humble Steen, named in honour of our winemaking family lineage, allows one to experience the "essence of the vine" – as this wine is unwooded, crafted without manipulation & meant to be enjoyed chilled with a “load-shedding” cheese platter.
