About this Item
Ken Forrester Wines was established in the early 1990s after Johannesburg resident and restauranteur, Ken Forrester fell in love with this Stellenbosch property. Together with Martin Meinert, they audaciously created a flagship Chenin Blanc called FMC (Forrester, Meinert Chenin). Sourced from vines planted in 1967, it set the world benchmark for New World Chenin and started SA’s Chenin revolution.
4-Bottle wooden case with FMC 2018, 2019, 2020 & 2021
The FMC is "the pinnacle of what we consider the finest expression of the grapes of this varietal – an icon Chenin! Rich, layered with dried apricot, vanilla and honey. It will gain additional complexity with cellaring". Made from 100% Bushvine Chenin Blanc planted in the early '70s. Farmed sustainably and by hand, we nurture the vines through their annual growth cycle until they are ready for harvest. Experience guides our hand during harvest as we move through the vineyard no less than 6 times over 6 weeks, to select parcels of FMC at various ripeness levels. The wines are barrel fermented and allowed to age for a period of 8-10 months. This vertical selection consists of four vintages from 2021, 2020, 2019 and 2018.
