About this Item
Bouchard Père et Fils is a sizable and historic Burgundy wine estate, based in Beaune. The largest vineyard owner in the Côte d'Or, it produces more than 100 wines mostly made from Pinot Noir or Chardonnay, in a range that also includes appellations in the Maconnais, Côte Chalonnaise and Beaujolais regions.
Bouchard Père et Fils is one of the oldest wine estates in Burgundy, founded in 1731. In 1995 it was sold to Joseph Henriot, and became part of Groupe La Vigie along with major brands like Champagne Henriot and Chablis' William Fèvre. Bouchard Père et Fils should not be confused with Bouchard Aîné et Fils, which is owned by Boisset.
Great Domaines has been importing the very finest Burgundy into South Africa since 1999. This case offers a unique opportunity to taste and drink across numerous terroirs from a single village (Beaune), from a single producer (Bouchard Père et Fils) and from a single vintage (2017). Bouchard Père & Fils has, over many years, built up a domaine boasting some of the finest vineyard holdings in the Côte-d’Or. In Burgundy, it’s all about vineyard location and, since 1731, Bouchard Père & Fils has been fully invested in expressing the distinctive character of each terroir across their holdings. What better way to get a deeper understanding of the nuances of Burgundy by tasting across different climates from the same vintage and producer. The case was created and assembled at the Château de Beaune with an information card on each wine included inside.
