Notes
This work is no 8 from the portfolio 'Baudelaire's Voyage', which consists of 10 original woodcuts printed by Egon Guenther in Johannesburg, and 10 sonnets by Stephen Grey, published in September 1975. The edition was limited to 75 copies numbered 1 to 75, and 15 artists proofs numbered I to XV.
This image in the print refers to the sculptural pediment above the entrance to the wine cellar at Groot Constantia, reputedly by the artist Anton Anreith, who worked at the Cape from 1777 until his death in 1822.
