'Multiple award winner. Glossy black cherries, smoked beef & black pepper in seductive 2010, its smoothly polished lines & resonating length hard to resist. French oak 16 months, half new. This is an iron fist in a velvet glove. 2009 (4.5 stars) showed more new oak.' - Platter's SA Wine Guide, 5*
'The 2010 Shiraz underwent three or four pumpovers per day and sees 16 months in 15 months French oak. It has an engaging bouquet of brambly red fruit, raspberry and cranberry of briery that gently waft from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a crisp, almost leisurely opening with pure cranberry, sour cherry and pomegranate notes. This is so understated but carries so much finesse and class. By no means a powerful Shiraz, this just oozes refinement.' - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, 93/100 (Oct 2013)
'Matured for 16 months in French oak, 50% new, the wine demands your attention. Fantastic aromatics including red and black berries, a floral note, smoked meat, pepper and spice. On the palate, there's great depth of fruit, moderate acidity and fine tannins. Is it too dense and weighty? It certainly right on the edge but ultimately it's not unbalanced - the complete package when it comes to New World Shiraz.' - Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za, 92/100
