About this Item
The Foundry Wine Collection was established on a shoestring budget in 2001 by Chris Williams and his great friend James Reid. The brand has gained numerous accolades and awards since 2001. The wines are site specific, terroir defined wines, with the aim of producing wines that both Chris and James enjoy drinking.

Critics Ratings
‘Pristine fruit on finessed 2015, light tannic hold & freshness from 15% wholebunch & portion aged in older oak. Like 2014 (4 stars, 88 pts), delivers great presence without obvious power.’ – Platter’s SA Wine Guide, 4.5* (92/100)
‘W.O. Stellenbosch. 15% whole bunch fermentation. 40% matured for five months in older French oak barrels, the rest in tank before blending and another five months in concrete. A top note of fynbos before red and black fruit, earth and spice. Medium bodied with pure fruit, fresh acidity and a pleasantly grippy tannins – has a nice “crunch” to it.’ – Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za, 91/100
‘This opens with a gorgeous, highly aromatic nose reminiscent of purple flower fields partnered with ripe raspberry, blueberry and blackberry. The fruit-forward palate offers more berry goodness, with a velvety tannic structure and enough acidity to enliven the finish.’ – Lauren Buzzeo, Wine Enthusiast, 90/100 (Jan 2018)
