About this Item
The Foundry Wine Collection was established on a shoestring budget in 2001 by Chris Williams and his great friend James Reid. The brand has gained numerous accolades and awards since 2001. The wines are site specific, terroir defined wines, with the aim of producing wines that both Chris and James enjoy drinking.

Critics Ratings
‘It’s always hard to pick a preferred wine between The Foundry’s Roussanne and Grenache Blanc and this year it’s a dead heat. With some oatmeal notes from partial malolactic, stony minerality, subtle oak and a pithy, tannic, spice-edged finish, this is very European in style. Drink 2016-20.’ – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2016, 93/100
‘From vineyard in south Stellenbosch, 2015 peach pip, green melon & oystershell minerality buoyed by bright acidity. Melange of perfumed lemon blossom, baked lemon flavours on this impressively textured stunner. No 2014.’ – Platter’s SA Wine Guide, 4.5*
‘Granite soils, fermented in old oak, eight months on lees. Subtle but delightful perfume: blossom, maybe honeysuckle, nutty, stone fruit and pears. So complex. The same range on the palate. All that complexity lifted by a sour-fresh finish.’ – Julia Harding MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16.5/20 (Oct 2017)
