About this Item
Rene Rostaing produced his first wine in 1971, but it took almost 3 decades before wine became a full time occupation. Through inheritance from Albert Dervieux Thaize, his father-in-law who retired in 1990, and from Marius Gentaz Dervieux, his uncle, Rene Rostaing was able to expand his Northern Rhone holdings, giving him some of the best terroir in Côte Rôtie. Rene Rostaing remains a traditional Côte Rôtie producer and there are few better on this historic slope.

Critics Ratings
Truly blockbuster stuff, and a wine that will compete with the ’99 when it’s at full maturity, the 2010 Côte Rôtie Côte Blonde gave up a spectacular array of sweet red and black raspberry, cassis, violets and underbrush. A full-bodied, impeccably balanced, yet concentrated and massive Côte Rôtie, it has world-class tannin quality, a stacked mid-palate and blockbuster length. It will need another decade to show some maturity, and hold nicely through 2040. - Robert Parker 99/100 (2012)
