Notes

Hugo Naudé’s paintings of Namaqualand are synonymous with his name. In the current lot, Wild Flowers, Namaqualand, the artist describes an arid landscape vitalised paint with Spring flowers with lively impressionistic brushstrokes and academic perspective. The blooms extend in a vivid corridor of impasto in shades of yellow, orange and green which pass through this composition.
