About this Item
Notes
South African-born couture designer, Jacques LaGrange, studied fashion at The Academy of Clothing Technology, followed by working as a personal assistant to renowned couturier Errol Arendz, for six and a half years.
LaGrange became a finalist in the ELLE Young Designer of the Year Awards in 1999 and went on to win the Most Elegant Couple competition at the J&B Met of that year, and the same award two years later in 2001. Jacques moved to Paris, but shortly thereafter returned to Cape Town when asked to help launch a French design house, Lancel. He then launched his own couture label.
Nineteen years later, LaGrange continues to garner local and international acclaim, with television appearances on programmes such as Top Billing, Pasella, Expresso, Bravo and Fashion One. LaGrange has featured regularly in all major publications, including several cover exposures, with Glamour, ELLE, Cosmopolitan, Bella, My Wedding Day, Rooi Rose, LeKap, Independent News Papers, Sunday Times and The New Age.
