Stephen Rautenbach studied Fine Art at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. He held an artist residency at the PACE centre in Port Shepstone, KwaZulu-Natal before working as an artisan at a bronze foundry in Stellenbosch. Rautenbach has previously been a guest lecturer at Stellenbosch University and taught sculpture and drawing at Somerset College for four and a half years. He currently has his own gallery and studio in Stellenbosch.
