About this Item
The Feraud family of Domaine Feraud has their history in winemaking dating back to 1670. In 1964, Paul Feraud began producing and selling his own wine, but it was his daughter, Laurence, who convinced him to create an independent family estate which was founded in 1987 and named Domaine du Pegau. Pegau is considered one of the best estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and their traditional-styled wines are considered some of the best in the world.

Critics Ratings
‘For the fourth time, the Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée da Capo has been produced, and for the fourth time, it has received a perfect score. At present the Capo reveals that extra level of flavor, power, complexity and richness. It is a big wine, boasting a dark plum/garnet color as well as a stunning bouquet of aged beef intermixed with pepper, herbes de Provence, and steak au poivre. This unctuously textured, full-bodied Châteauneuf possesses enormous body, huge flavors and sweet, velvety tannins. Still youthful, it has not yet begun to close down, and I’m not sure it ever will given this unusual vintage. It is a modern day classic that should continue to provide provocative as well as compelling drinking for 20-30+ years.’ - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, 100/100 (Oct 2010)
‘Enormously concentrated, with notes of mushroom demi-glace, licorice, tar and hoisin sauce, but also marvelously textured, with additional layers of raspberry, fig and currant paste--all supported by thick, ripe tannins. The slashing finish leaves you both winded and begging for more. Best from 2008 through 2035. 455 cases made.’ - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 99/100 (Jun 2006)
