About this Item
Michel’s Chapoutier’s landholding, track record and incredible consistency from entry-level wines through to the single-vineyards is unparalleled in the world of wine. Chapoutier ranked 4th in 2019 amongst the “World's Most Admired Wine Brands“. Chapoutier is one of the oldest names in the Rhone valley. Founded in 1808 by the Calvet family, it was sold to the Chapoutier family in 1855. Today, Michel Chapoutier is the reference-point for the entire Rhône Valley, especially with their single vineyard Sélections Parcellaires. In fact, Robert Parker has praised Chapoutier’s Northern Rhône’s as some of the world’s finest wines.

‘One of the wines of the vintage, this dark ruby/purple-tinged effort possesses great intensity along with a full-bodied mouthfeel and almost over-the-top levels of licorice-infused kirsch liqueur and raspberries. Spicy, peppery and earthy with lavish glycerin as well as richness, this is an amazing 2009 that is already drinking beautifully given the precociousness of the vintage. It should evolve for 15 years or more.’ - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, 96/100 (Oct 2011)
‘Dense but supple, offering layers of fig sauce, black currant, braised fig and mulled blackberry fruit stitched with tobacco leaf, bittersweet cocoa powder and black tea, with a very long finish. A lovely iron hint lurks in reserve. Should slowly put on weight and cruise in the cellar. Best from 2014 through 2030. 507 cases made.’ - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 95/100 (Jun 2012)
