About this Item

2009 Saint-Joseph L'Amarybelle
6 (1 x 6) 750ml

Cave Cuilleron is, above all, a family estate. Established in 1920 by Claude Cuilleron, Yves’ grandfather, a passion for wine has been in the family’s genes for three generations. The domaine stands out thanks to its advanced viticulture practices and bespoke winemaking. Within 10 years of taking over from his uncle in 1987, Yves Cuilleron established himself as ‘one of the leading lights of France’s Northern Rhône region’ according to Jamie Goode. He has grown the estate considerably and is a prominent producer in Condrieu. While he is an advocate for modernity, his wines manage to walk the fine line between traditional and the new-wave.

Critics Ratings

‘This is mouthwatering, with dark currant, fig and black cherry fruit offset by a riveting chalky spine and a long, iron-filled finish. There's great balance between the flesh and bones. Should age nicely.’ - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 92/100 (Oct 2011)

‘Opaque ruby. Deeply scented bouquet of black raspberry, violet, smoked meat and licorice. Broad and fleshy, with densely packed dark fruit flavors lifted by tangy acidity. Smoothly combines richness and vivacity, finishing with serious power and lingering smokiness.’ - Josh Raynolds, Vinous, 91/100 (Mar 2012)
