A Japanese lacquer and mother-of-pearl inlaid tea caddy, Zoshuntei Sampo, Edo period, 1615-1868
the sarcophagus-shaped cover inlaid with pheasants before flowering blossoms, the interior with garlands of peonies and lilies, enclosing three divisions each with a kakimon style tea caddy and stopper, each decorated with panels of flowers and birds, the front and sides similarly inlaid, raised on bracket feet, signed, minor chipping, 17cm high, 29,5cm wide, 17,5cm deep
