About this Item
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is one of the most enigmatic names in the wine world, conjuring up notions of exclusivity and desirability. It is the only Burgundy wine producer with a status comparable to the top Bordeaux producers. Its prestige, and historical links with royalty, has made it the foremost name in Burgundy, a region which has been experiencing significantly increased demand over recent years, becoming a priority for international collectors.
One of the most renowned vineyards in the world, located in the commune of Vosne-Romanée. The wines of incredible Grand cru sites of Échézeaux, Grands Échézeaux, La Tâche, Richebourg and Romanée-Saint-Vivant, are praised for their subtle and mysterious nature.
Guided by the relentless pursuit of excellence, passed down from generation to generation, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti’s mission is to make its Grands Crus the greatest in all of Burgundy. Few would dispute that the wines of DRC are some of the world’s finest.

Critics Ratings
‘This is no longer so completely primary and while the nose has not yet reached full maturity, it is approaching it slowly but surely. The aromatic profile is very Vosne with ample blue and red berry fruit aromas cut with spice, earth and discreet game hints that lead to delicious, round and largely, if not completely, resolved medium weight flavors that display subtle mineral nuances on the long and lingering finish. While this could certainly be drunk now with pleasure, for my taste I would advise leaving the '98 Échézeaux in the cellar for another 3 to 5 years and then drink over the next 10 to 15.’- Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 90/100 (Sept 2010)
‘Bright ruby-red. Spicy aromas of cherry, raspberry and vanillin oak. Juicy, intense raspberry flavor offers a restrained sweetness and moderate flesh. The tannins are supple and fairly sweet.’ - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, 90/100 (Mar 2000)
