About this Item
Domaine Méo-Camuzet is one of Burgundy’s star properties and is known for its concentrated, rich and serious wines. Until 30 years ago, most of the domaine's vineyards were leased out and the wine was sold to négociants. The domaine only began bottling in 1985 and the various sharecropping agreements, including one with Henri Jayer, have all come to an end. Today, Jean-Nicolas Méo and Christian Faurois, a former sharecropper turned right-hand man, manage the domaine and produce some of the Côte d'Or’s finest wines. The domaine now proudly holds 2.5 hectares of Grands Crus and 8 hectares in some of the finest Premier Cru sites in Nuits-St-Georges and Vosne-Romanée. Most of the vineyards are farmed organically.
This lot consists of the following wines:
Méo-Camuzet Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Murgers 2002
Méo-Camuzet Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Chaumes 2002

Critics Ratings
Méo-Camuzet Nuits-Saint-Georges 1e Cru Aux Murgers 2002
‘Gorgeous Méo with a great development window. Inky dark, no signs of bricking at all. Heady nose of soy/maple/balsam and tarry spice but in a restrained and balanced way. Dusty damp cave, licorice, hint of espresso. Silky and seamless on the palate. Lovely.’ - Cellartracker.com, 94/100 (Aug 2014)
Méo-Camuzet Vosne-Romanée 1e Cru Les Chaumes 2002
‘A restrained nose of relatively austere but ripe and spicy black fruit aromas slide into sappy, lush and opulent if still firmly structured medium-bodied flavors that finish with real verve and excellent length. I like the ample Vosne character though this is presently quite backward and will require a few more years for the flavors to really blossom.’ - Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 91/100 (Jul 2008)
