About this Item

2004 Clos-Vougeot Grand Cru
1 (1 x 1) 750ml

René Engel founded the domaine, located in Vosne-Romanée, in1919 after escaping a POW camp after the First World War. The domaine continued in the family with René’s son, Pierre, and grandson, Philippe. However, Philippe’s sudden passing at the age of 49 lead to the sale of the domaine to Francois Pinault, owner of Château Latour. The name was changed to Domaine Eugenie, and has since produced wine under its own name.

Critics Ratings

‘Very floral with hint of green note, flowers, stems and red currant. Palate was initially thin but it built weight with more time in the glass. Silky, airy and transparent with solid backbone. A very strong ‘04 red Burgundy.’ - Cellartracker.com, 93/100 (Jan 2019)
