Critics Ratings
Stellar scores by British Master of Wine, Tim Atkin, includes 98 points for the 2017 vintage, 97 for 2016, and of course the White Wine of the Year award for the 2015 (98 points).
"There's only one barrel of this, alas, because it's the greatest South African Chenin Blanc I've ever tasted. Grown on granite, quartz and ferricrete soils, this comes from a 50-year-old vineyard in the western part of the Swartland. Stone, jasmine and hawthorn aromas segue into a remarkable array of flavours: wet wool, lees, beeswax, struck match, vanilla spice and minerality. Truly one of the great Cape whites. Drink: 2016-24" - Tim Atkin, SA Wine Report 2016, 98/100.
