About this Item

2012 White
6 (1 x 6) 750ml

Duncan Savage, a trailblazing winemaker, produces some of SA’s most sought-after wines. They are something of a contradiction; ‘savage’ in their essence of minimal intervention winemaking, but utterly sophisticated in their elegance, drinkability and poise. Every year his following grows, with some of these wines reaching a cult-like status. He sources grapes from across the Western Cape winelands and his cellars are based in Salt River.

Savage Wines was launched in 2013 after revolutionary winemaker at Cape Point Vineyards, Duncan Savage started his own family label. A few months after Duncan turned 35, Savage Wines released a white and a red blend to critical acclaim. Today there are 8 wines in the elegantly defined Savage Portfolio, produced in his winery in Salt River, culminating in some of the most sought-after wines on the market.

Critics Ratings

“Duncan Savage is a master with white Bordeaux varieties. This has more Semillon than his Cape Point whites and, if anything, it’s a slightly bolder, less restrained style, with more creamy lees, grapefruity thiols and a savoury undertone from wild yeast fermentation. There’s a salty tang here as well as the balance and finesse that characterises Savage’s winemaking. One of the Cape’s best white blends.” - Tim Atkin SA Wine Report 2013, 95/100
