About this Item
The vineyards of Trotanoy were planted in 1761 and since the end of the eighteenth century, Trotanoy wines were considered as one of the best of Pomerol. In 1953 Château Trotanoy was sold to Jean-Pierre Moueix. The 7.2-hectares of vineyard slopes have a fascinating soil diversity consisting of gravel, clay, a subsoil of red gravel and hard, iron-rich soil.

Critics Ratings
‘Owned by Jean-Pierre Moueix (and run by Christian Moueix), this 19-acre property is on the highest part of the Pomerol plateau. This is a powerful wine, dense with black fruits, dusty dry tannins, tempered with fresh acidity. A serious, age-worthy wine.’ - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, 94/100 (Jun 2007)
‘Aromas of crushed fruit and flowers, with hints of vanilla. Full-bodied, with a solid core of ripe fruit, ultra-fine tannins and light toasty oak. Best after 2012.’ - James Suckling, Wine Spectator, 92/100 (Mar 2007)
