About this Item
Bond is the brainchild of legendary Napa Valley winemakers Bill Harlan and Bob Levy and produced by the team at cult winery Harlan Estate. They first developed the idea of producing Cabernet Sauvignon from carefully selected ‘Grand Cru’ vineyard sites around the region in 1996. Each of the five small vineyards (3-5 hectares) offer a unique terroir that expresses the pinnacle of Napa Cabernet. A blend of all the sites was also launched alongside the debut release in 1999, and is aptly named The Matriarch.
VECINA is coined from the Spanish word for neighbor. This is our endeavor with the property situated directly southeast of the BOND winery.

‘Another wine flirting with perfection is the 2010 Vecina, the nearby neighbor of Harlan Estate on the western hills overlooking the Oakville Corridor, and further south, Yountville. A Graves-like effort, it displays notes of burning embers, scorched earth, crème de cassis, and charcoal. Primordial, dense, rich, full-bodied, masculine and backward, this is another example of a wine built for half a century of cellaring. Forget it for 7-10 years and watch the pleasure unfold thereafter.’ - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, 99/100 (Oct 2013)
‘Bright full ruby. Vibrant, expressive aromas of blueberry, black cherry, menthol, graphite minerality and licorice. Plush, ripe and deep; not overly sweet but utterly seamless and refined. This wonderfully broad, rich wine saturates every square millimeter of the palate with flavors on the lively, long finish. The tannins are remarkably fine-grained. This is remarkably balanced from the outset, but it would be a crime to open it too early.’ - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, 96/100 (May 2013)
