Critics Ratings
'Smooth and focused, brimming with delicious cherry, red plum, spice and chocolate flavors. It's well crafted, showing abundant character, acidity and reserve. Drink now through 1999.' - Kim Marcus, Wine Spectator (Aug 1997)
'Saturated ruby-red. Cassis, licorice and mint aromas reminiscent of Napa cabernet. Juicy, spicy berry flavor complemented by a light oakiness. But the wine's acidity seems slightly elevated. Finishes fairly persistent but rather tough, even a bit pinched, with dusty tannins and a sweet/sour quality. Will more time in bottle bring this wine into better harmony?' - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous (Sep 1998)
