About this Item
Situated in the foothills of Stellenbosch's iconic Simonsberg Mountain and with a history dating back to 1771, Warwick Wine Estate was purchased in 1902 by a Commanding Officer of the Warwickshire regiment. He renamed the farm Warwick as a tribute to his regime. Warwick's terroir offers the perfect confluence of elements to grow grapes of consistently outstanding quality. In the cellar, careful vinification yields fine wines with true varietal character and an honest expression of their origin. Warwick deeply cherishes what nature has provided and is committed to protecting and nurturing the land for generations to come. They dedicate time and passion to ensuring quality in every facet of their craft.
The Trilogy, named for the three major varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, is their flagship blend.

'The 2008 treads that fine line between accessibility & structure. Cassis & tobacco, white pepper & polished tannins all give immediate pleasure, but the best is yet to come, drink till +-2020.' - Platter’s SA Wine Guide 2012, 4.5*
'The 2008 Estate Reserve is a blend of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Cabernet Franc and 15% Merlot and was aged for 24 months in French oak, of which 60% is new. It has an introspective, earthy bouquet with blackberry, cedar wood, smoke and a touch of green bell pepper from the Cabernet Franc that opens up nicely with aeration, allowing more red fruits to emerge. The palate is medium-bodied with juicy, ripe tannins; hints of black pepper sprinkled over the ripe black fruits leading to a composed cedar-tinged, oaky finish.' - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, 90/100 (Aug 2011)
