Charla Bosman (née Haasbroek), as far-flung Sijnn's winemaker for almost a decade, has had access to the estate's unique and varied fruit and, since 2016, crafted parcels of characterful and critically acclaimed wine for her own account. The newcomer featured here is the first blended wine we've tasted from her boutique venture.
The fruit comes from the Sijnn vineyards planted atop large, red river stones overlying Bokkeveld shale. The vines are untrellised; they grow as bush vines. In the cellar, her ethos is simple: native yeast fermentations, lees aging, no filtration, and manual bottling and labeling.
