Boekenhoutskloof, located in the Franschhoek valley, was established in 1776 and gets its name 'Boekenhout' from an indigenous Beech tree. Boekenhoutskloof, managed by Marc Kent, describes themself as a Syrah specialist. Their efforts in conservation can be seen through initiatives they have taken-on in their farm and surrounding areas. They are also a founding member of the Franschhoek Mountain Conservancy.

Critics Ratings

‘Melon, citrus fruit and fine cedar oak aromas confidently lead to a palate with notes of almond paste and citrus pith; finished off with a lingering honey/melon perfume. Dollop of Sauvignon adds to the freshness. Great texture, but needs time to meld.’ - Platter’s SA Wine Guide 2014, 4.5*

‘Gorgeously pure, offering tangerine, white peach and clementine notes laced with chamomile, orange blossom and honeysuckle flavors. The long, mineral-driven finish has terrific cut and ample citrus oil and singed almond flavors in reserve. Cellar for maximum effect. Best from 2016 through 2022.’ - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 92/100 (Feb 2015)
