About this Item
Founded in 1682, Rustenberg Estate on the Simonsberg foothills is one of the most historic and picturesque farms in South Africa. The farm was previously split into two estates, until 1945 when industrialist Peter Barlow purchased both farms and reunited them. Rustenberg is family-owned with son of Peter Barlow, Simon, owning the estate and grandson, Murray (2 x Diners Club Young Winemaker of the Year) now cellar master.
This site-specific Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the oldest vineyard on the estate, high up on the Simonsberg. It is truly one of South Africa’s best Cabernet Sauvignons and has the track record to age for decades.

‘Magisterial Cabernet Sauvignon with a concentrated, impressive presence. 2011 is evolving splendidly, the tannins just starting to meld with the fruit, for drinking with pleasure and respect.’ - Platter’s SA Wine Guide 2018, 4.5*
