About this Item
A standard-bearer of Gigondas, Domaine Les Pallières is one of the longest running estates in the Southern Rhône. From the 15th century until 1998, the Domaine belonged to the same family. However, due to its decline over the years and no future successors, Les Pallières was sold to brothers – Daniel and Frédéric Brunier – of Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe, and the American importer Kermit Lynch. The passionate trio restored the vineyards, built a new winery and, with their focus on terroir, have led Les Pallières in a new direction, bottling two standout cuvées each year – Terrasse de Diable and Les Racines.

Critics Ratings
‘Brilliant ruby. Lively red fruit and floral scents are complicated by suggestions of smoky minerals and potpourri. Spicy, penetrating and pure, offering gently sweet raspberry and lavender pastille flavors and a subtle touch of blood orange. Closes smooth and long, with a whisper of tannins and strong mineral cut. This wine is a poster child for the blend of power and elegance that marks a great Gigondas.’ - Josh Raynolds, Vinous, 92/100 (Jan 2014)
‘The 2011 Gigondas Les Racines (80% Grenache and the rest Syrah and Cinsault) exhibits a deep ruby color, plenty of raspberry, strawberry, crushed rock and loamy soil characteristics, medium to full body, a soft underbelly and round, rich flavors. This appellation enjoyed a strong vintage in 2011, and this cuvee reflects that. It should drink well for 10-12 years.’ - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, 90-92/100 (Oct 2012)
